About The Position

City Brewery in La Crosse, WI, has immediate opportunities for a Packaging Operator in our packaging department. The Packaging Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining packaging machinery to ensure the accurate and efficient packaging of products according to company standards and production schedules. This role involves monitoring equipment, performing quality checks, troubleshooting basic issues, and adhering to safety and sanitation protocols. The Packaging Operator works closely with team members and supervisors to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while meeting daily production goals. Attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting are key to success in this position.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, HSED or relevant work experience required.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed individual that is able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, often loud manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teammates of varying skills and backgrounds.
  • Effective analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must be available for 2nd and 3rd shift, weekends and overtime as assigned.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screening, functional capacity exam and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor the packaging line for consistent product flow and quality output.
  • Inspect packaged products to ensure they meet quality and labeling standards.
  • Set up machines for daily production runs and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Load packaging materials (film, boxes, label) into machines as needed.
  • Record production data, including quantities, downtime and machine settings.
  • Communicate with maintenance and supervisory staff regarding equipment issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with GMP and safety standards.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, PPE requirements and company policies at all times.
  • Support team members and assist in training new operators as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
