About The Position

As a Packaging Associate, you will play an important role in ensuring products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently while supporting both the Production and Shipping & Receiving teams. The Packaging Associate is responsible for supplying all necessary packaging materials (including spools) to production lines, performing accurate weighing and labeling of finished goods, and delivering them to the appropriate warehouse locations. This role supports both the Production and Shipping & Receiving teams and plays a key role in ensuring products are packaged safely, accurately, and in alignment with company standards.

Basic math and algebra skills.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of forklift experience preferred.
One or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience or certification in Lean Sigma concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

Become forklift certified and maintain compliance for safe handling and transport of finished goods.
Oversee the boxing of finished goods, including accurate data entry and setting up production lines with required packaging.
Perform visual inspections of packaged products to verify labeling accuracy and overall quality.
Set up and fill racks for doff changes.
Perform spool taping as required to support production and ensure proper preparation of materials.
Follow all AstenJohnson boxing procedures and protocols.
Remove trash and used spool boxes from the shop floor as needed.
Store incoming boxing materials, rotate stock, and ensure packaging supplies are readily available.
Maintain a clean and organized work area following the 5S system.
Support inventory counts and audits as necessary.
Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate closely with both Production and Shipping & Receiving departments.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
