This role is crucial in ensuring products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently, while also supporting the Production and Shipping & Receiving teams.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Strong number sense and comfort with sequential tasks.
  • Basic math and algebra skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of forklift experience preferred.
  • One or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience or certification in Lean Sigma concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supplying all necessary packaging materials (including spools) to production lines.
  • Performing accurate weighing and labeling of finished goods.
  • Delivering finished goods to the appropriate warehouse locations.
  • Becoming forklift certified and maintaining compliance for safe handling and transport of finished goods.
  • Overseeing the boxing of finished goods, including accurate data entry and setting up production lines with required packaging.
  • Performing visual inspections of packaged products to verify labeling accuracy and overall quality.
  • Setting up and filling racks for doff changes.
  • Performing spool taping as required to support production and ensure proper preparation of materials.
  • Following all AstenJohnson boxing procedures and protocols.
  • Removing trash and used spool boxes from the shop floor as needed.
  • Storing incoming boxing materials, rotating stock, and ensuring packaging supplies are readily available.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area following the 5S system.
  • Supporting inventory counts and audits as necessary.
  • Following all safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborating closely with both Production and Shipping & Receiving departments.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.
