About The Position

The position provides technical expertise to maintain and continuously develop and improve the packaging process in order to minimize cost, to ensure the technical means for safe operation and high product quality and to guarantee the desired technical plant availability. The Packaging Area Manager is accountable for implementation and adherence to requirements of the Tate and Lyle environmental health, safety, quality (Food Safety), and security system for the packaging team. This position ensures the organization, planning, direction and control of process & technical changes/ improvements and technical documentation for the Packaging area. The Packaging Manager supervises Shift Supervisors, Production Shift Managers, dotted line supervision of assigned production engineers, Operators and overall responsibility for the operations of the respective production/business unit. The position provides the technical expertise to maintain and continuously develop and improve the area in order to minimize cost, to ensure the technical means for safe operation and high product quality. Responsible for the technical care and condition of the areas. Assures the defined technical availability of the unit according to the production requirements, with continuous technical improvements, and in conformance to changing requirements in respect to economics, safety and care for the environment. Fully responsible for planning, managing, and organizing the engineering and technical support to the area. This support includes maintenance activities, technical changes, project management and technical documentation. Responsible for the repair and maintenance budgets and together with the plant manager and operations manager for the capital investment budgets of the area. Is business oriented in his/her work and shows a high level of cost awareness and cost responsibility. Leads team members in designated areas, offering guidance, expertise, and support to foster their growth and development. Provides seasoned process, maintenance and project expertise which combines mastery of process engineering with in-depth knowledge of the plant requirements. Uses mature engineering judgment, creativity and foresight to initiate studies, projects and new developments and to anticipate and solve unprecedented problems with a focus on long term technical solutions. Provides plant specific technical expertise on the application of new process developments, on equipment innovations and on state-of-the-art maintenance and project techniques, ensuring regulatory compliance of the technical installations, maintenance practices and the technical documentation.

  • Audit and Review EHSQS effectiveness in area.
  • Preparing, implementing and positively promoting EHSQS Management Systems (J2EE).
  • Reviewing EHSQS performance to ensure company objectives and expectations are met.
  • Involving all employees in the relevant EHSQS plans for activities and services.
  • Assessing the existence and effectiveness of EHSQS plans through appropriate audits and reviews.
  • Effectively reviewing and tracking corrective actions for all incidents, defects, hazards, inadequacies of procedures and suggested improvements that are escalated.
  • Implementing leadership requirements specified in the EHS Management Standards.
  • Reviewing performance to ensure plant compliance with Non-GMO program.
