Packager - 1st Shift
About The Position
This role involves working with the Finishing Supervisor, Finishing Lead, and/or Production Manager to perform various duties related to packaging production orders. The primary responsibilities include processing information from production orders, accurately counting and packaging materials, creating and affixing labels, completing worksheets, and ensuring the job moves smoothly to the next production stage. The position also requires adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as maintaining a clean work area. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be fluent in English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and job tickets.
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Must have the ability to apply information, and variables, learned from one task, or project, to other similar situations.
Responsibilities
- Process information from the production orders
- Count and bag and/or wrap material in quantities required
- Make proper label to affix to the package
- Properly complete worksheets and move the job to the next area of production
- Follow relevant safety/health and environmental regulations
- Clean and maintain work area
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
