About The Position

This role assists the machine operator by coordinating on production needs, relieving for breaks, and training and managing other packers on the line. The BIB Packager/Assistant Operator will coordinate with the operator on running products, setting boxes, and setting up lines. They will manage packers on the line while also working the line, teach new packers, and help other packers complete their tasks for the day. This position also involves performing and completing LUV label returns, teaching new packers how to use the system, and assisting other packers with issues in Pallet Tracking. The employee will operate a pallet jack and train new employees on its use. They must know how to work the machine and run it when the operator is gone and/or to help rotate for breaks and lunches if needed. Additionally, the role may require assisting in Thermal Rooms as required (PT I duties).

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must have basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into the computer.
Regularly required to physically perform the following: 25-50 pounds 150-300 times during the shift, Stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift, Use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, Talk and hear.
Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Manage packers on the line while also working the line.
Teach new packers.
Help other packers complete shops for the day.
Perform and complete LUV label returns and teach new packers how to use the system.
Assist other packers with issues in Pallet Tracking.
Operate a pallet jack and train new employees on how to use it.
Know how to work the machine and run it when the operator is gone and/or to help rotate for breaks and lunches if needed.
Assist in Thermal Rooms as required (PT I duties).
