About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position for the 2nd shift, working Monday-Friday from 3:15 pm to 11:45 pm. Overtime may be required based on production needs. The role involves verifying the quantity, quality, and labeling of products ready for shipment, ensuring correct box types, liners, and packing methods are used. The Packager will assemble boxes, affix labels, examine products for conformance to customer specifications, and palletize boxes onto correct pallets. The company is a family-owned business that provides custom sauces, seasonings, and dry coating systems to various industries, including major poultry companies, the frozen food industry, meat industry, and food service industry. They develop and manufacture custom flavor profiles using innovation and extensive food industry knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer.
  • Lift 25-50 pounds up to 7 feet high 150-300 times during the shift.
  • Stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies quantity, quality, and labeling of products ready for shipment.
  • Ensures correct box type, box liners and packing methods are used.
  • Assembles boxes and affixes labels on packaging.
  • Examines packs, cups, or bottles and contents of items for conformance to customer specifications.
  • Palletize boxes onto correct pallets to follow customer specifications.
