About The Position

Klondike Cheese Co. is searching for a Packager to join our Team! This role involves various packaging line duties, including packing finished product, preparing supplies, operating packaging equipment, and maintaining a clean work environment. The position is on the 1st shift, typically Monday-Friday with every other Saturday, starting at 5:00 am for 8-9 hour shifts. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• A good attendance record is required.
• Candidate must be a team player.
• Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Packaging finished product into plastic to be shrink wrapped.
• Packing into buckets, pails or cartons.
• Stacking pallets.
• Loading cheese onto conveyors.
• Cleaning equipment and room.
• Moving pallets of cheese and totes on rolling racks.
• Preparing supplies and labels.
• Verifying and documenting product codes and ensuring materials are correct.
• Completing packaging and sanitation paperwork correctly.
• Cleaning & sanitizing equipment and work areas as needed and directed.
• Operating packaging equipment.
• Loading cheese products into package processing equipment.
• Cleaning containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
• Verifying and recording product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
• Examining and inspecting containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Sorting, weighing, and inspecting products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
• Verifying accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attaching to finished packaged items.
• Removing finished packaged items from machine and separating rejected items.
• Inspecting and removing defective products and packaging material.
• Palletizing packaged product.
• Moving pallets of cheese and totes in and out of production areas.
• Observing machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
• Tending or operating machines that package product.
• Stopping or resetting machines when malfunctions occur, clearing machine jams, and reporting malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Performing other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
