About The Position

Klondike Cheese Co. is searching for a Packager to join our Team! This role involves packaging finished yogurt products, either manually or by operating packaging machinery, to prepare them for storage or shipment. The position also includes secondary duties such as cleaning and sanitation, milk separation, standardizing milk, CIP, and ferment tank operation. The shift is the 1st shift, starting at 5:00 am, typically 8-9 hour shifts, Monday-Friday with every other Saturday. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour, with potential for higher pay for experienced workers. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift.
  • Frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Package finished product by hand or by operating or tending packaging machines or equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
  • Perform milk separation, standardizing milk with powders and cream.
  • Operate CIP and ferment tanks.
  • Pack yogurt into containers, cartons, or bags in a timely manner.
  • Prepare supplies and labels.
  • Verify and record product, packaging, or order information on specified forms and records.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  • Sort, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
  • Verify accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attach to finished packaged items.
  • Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
  • Palletize packaged product.
  • Move pallets of product in and out of production areas.
  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Stop or reset packaging machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
  • Adhere to all GMP, safety, and production rules and regulations.
  • Maintain extreme cleanliness of all equipment and work areas.
  • Perform other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
