About The Position

Klondike Cheese Co. is searching for a Packager to join our Team! This role involves packaging finished yogurt products for storage or shipment, either manually or by operating packaging machinery. Secondary duties may include cleaning and sanitation, milk separation, standardizing milk, CIP, and ferment tank operation. The position requires adherence to all GMP, safety, and production rules, maintaining extreme cleanliness due to the sensitivity of yogurt to bacteria and mold. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Friday, with every other Saturday required.

Requirements

• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Good attendance record.
• Must be a team player.
• Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift.
• Frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must adhere to all GMP, safety, and production rules and regulations.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

• Cheese/food industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package finished product by hand or by operating or tending packaging machines or equipment.
• Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas.
• Prepare supplies and labels, and verify and record product, packaging, or order information.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met.
• Sort, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement.
• Verify accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attach to finished packaged items.
• Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
• Palletize packaged product.
• Move pallets of product in and out of production areas.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
• Stop or reset packaging machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Maintain extreme cleanliness of all equipment and work areas.
• Perform other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
