About The Position

Ott Scientific, a family of companies including Polysciences, Bangs Laboratories, and Ethos Biosciences, delivers innovative chemistries, products, and services to specialized industries. Polysciences, with 60 years of operation, offers custom synthesis, contract manufacturing, packaging, and laboratory products, adhering to ISO13485:2016, FDA cGMP 21 CFR 820 regulations, and SOCMA's ChemStewards® Management System. The bioprocessing business unit provides solutions for research, bioproduction, and therapeutics development. We are seeking a Packager for our filling and packaging department, working Monday through Thursday, 10-hour days, from 4:15 PM to 2:45 AM. This is a regular, full-time position with benefits, located in Warrington, PA.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent.
Ability to read and understand associated packaging and manufacturing documents.
Comfortable giving others work instructions and work corrections.
Ability to perform simple math like counting, addition, subtraction, and using a calculator.
Ability to organize work area to ensure it is neat, clean, and holds accurate inventory.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to utilize tools such as scales, torque testers, particle counters, and other various pieces of equipment.
Must be able to work overtime activities to support business needs.
Must have legal authorization to work in the US and will not require sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Ability to eventually move up to a lead role.
Ability to drive fork truck and use power pallet jack a plus.
Experience working in a cGMP environment.
Experience working in an ISO 13485 environment.

Responsibilities

Performing filling, capping, labeling, inspecting, packaging, and cleaning activities on assigned tube and bottle filling line positions.
Following all company safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
Following all area and process procedures.
Abiding by the Polysciences attendance policy.
Treating colleagues with respect and working as a team.
Offering ideas and suggestions with a positive attitude.
Paying attention to detail to deliver consistent quality and quantity of work.
Keeping busy during downtime.
Communicating issues, concerns, and needs to Line Leads and Sr. Line Leads.
Working multiple lines and multiple positions on those lines.
Cleaning machine parts in between line changes.
Making minor equipment adjustments.
Reading, following, and completing batch records according to GDP rules.
Occasionally overseeing less complex production lines, including inspecting and verifying components, communicating product details and specifications, assigning workers to line positions and giving instructions, monitoring line flow and adjusting worker speed, assigning other work or sending workers to other lines.
During downtime, checking and inspecting finished product, taking accurate weights, updating run numbers at set intervals, completing paperwork according to GDP, communicating line clean up assignments, and verifying line clearance after cleaning.
