About The Position

The Packager operates packaging equipment and supports scheduled packaging runs, including staging materials, inspecting finished containers, maintaining line flow, and moving finished goods to storage. The role also supports product changeovers, basic equipment checks, packaging documentation, and coordination with production, warehouse, and quality teams. Packagers are expected to follow safe handling practices, report defects or equipment concerns, keep work areas organized, and contribute to efficient and accurate packaging operations.

Requirements

At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in packaging, assembly, or warehouse operations.
Hands-on experience with packaging machinery, conveyors, labeling equipment, or automated lines.
Knowledge of inventory control, batch counting, and order tracking processes.
Experience with quality inspections, documentation, and reporting in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Operate filling, sealing, labeling, and drum or tote handling equipment during scheduled packaging runs.
Stage packaging materials, containers, and supplies before production shifts.
Inspect filled containers for appearance, weight accuracy, and correct labels.
Adjust machine settings or perform minor resets to maintain smooth line flow.
Move finished goods to designated storage areas using approved equipment or procedures.
Follow safe handling procedures for finished products, containers, and packaging materials.
Identify and promptly report packaging defects, equipment concerns, or damaged materials.
Participate in packaging-related safety training, ergonomic awareness sessions, and equipment briefings.
Keep packaging areas clean and uncluttered, and handle spill response or cleanup within trained scope.
Log packaging counts, materials used, and downtime reasons as required.
Coordinate with production, warehouse, and quality teams to manage material flow and resolve issues.
Update labels, tags, or digital records for packaged products according to company standards.
Support changeovers by preparing equipment, removing old materials, and setting up for the next product type.
Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing consumables, checking guards, or ensuring proper alignment.
Contribute ideas to improve packaging efficiency, ergonomics, or product handling.
Perform other duties as needed to maintain efficient and accurate packaging operations.
