About The Position

Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Packager prepares customer products for shipment manually and using electric-powered industrial equipment with lifting devices, such as a motorized pallet jack and/or reach truck. The Packager packages products safely and efficiently according to instructions from the Line Lead and Quality Lead, follows corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices, reports observed noncompliance, and follows company safety rules while assisting with enforcement as appropriate.

The role performs production work, including packaging materials and verifying items for accuracy before packing. Success is measured by maintaining or exceeding client-specific orders-per-hour standards and efficiency goals to meet client needs. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Compensation is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a varied, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and move more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for long periods.
• Follow distribution center PPE standards, including wearing steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, safety vest, or other site leadership requirements.

Responsibilities

• Package orders from the slot.
• Place merchandise in boxes.
• Send packaged merchandise to the shipping line.
• Replenish products for the PTL machine for the next shift.
• Organize, tidy, and clean the work area and equipment.
• Report errors or equipment dysfunctions to team leaders.
• Follow applicable best practices and training guides.
• Cross-train in other areas of the department.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and report observed noncompliance.
• Observe company safety rules and assist with enforcement as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
