About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a part-time Package Handler at its distribution center in Springfield, Ohio. Package Handlers perform physical, fast-paced work to process orders and keep the supply chain moving. The role involves moving, scanning, and organizing packages throughout the shift, including handling fresh, dry, and frozen products in multi-temperature zones. No prior experience is required; a dedicated training team provides instruction on working safely and efficiently.

The available second-shift schedule starts at 7:30 PM and runs until work is finished, on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Shift lengths vary daily based on work volume. Starting pay is $20.13 per hour, with an additional $1.00-per-hour second-shift premium. Employees may earn a weekly attendance bonus of $145 if they work at least five hours on at least two scheduled workdays. Performance incentives and overtime may increase earnings; selectors average 12% to 22% above their base rate through performance incentives and overtime. Employees are paid weekly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Must be comfortable working in extreme cold or hot conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand labels, pick lists, scanners, and safety signs.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must regularly lift up to 100 pounds.

• Prior warehouse experience is a plus but is not required.
