About The Position

The PACE Transportation Driver provides direct transportation for PACE participants to and from destinations including their homes, the PACE Center, and medical providers. The role involves frequent interaction with participants, caregivers, community agencies, medical providers, PACE program staff, and leadership. The driver provides service coverage in both the Lexington (LEX) and Frankfort (FFT) regions on an as-needed, PRN basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Current Kentucky driver's license and a minimum of two years of driving experience.
• At least one year of work experience transporting passengers.
• At least one year of experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs, or appropriate training upon hire.
• At least one year of experience working with a frail or elderly population, or appropriate training upon hire.
• Current CPR certification, which must be maintained.
• Proficient reading and writing comprehension skills.
• No positive drug or alcohol test, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, or reasonable-suspicion testing.
• No more than two moving traffic violations during the previous 36 months.
• No DUI (drug or alcohol) conviction in a commercial or personal motor vehicle during the previous five years.
• Communicative, pleasant, and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to interact effectively with PACE participants, caregivers, the IDT, and PACE program staff.
• Ability to keep accurate records and be well organized.
• Entry-level computer skills.
• Must be a licensed driver.
