About The Position

The Physician Assistant will provide general surgery care at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role is listed as 1.0 FTE with 36 patient contact hours and uses the EPIC EMR system. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with call coverage on an as-needed basis. The PA will work alongside four physician providers and one fellow APP.

Requirements

• Physician Assistant credential from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board, obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support credential from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Master's degree.
• One year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient health histories, physical assessments, and preventative screenings.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures to guide clinical decision-making.
• Provide, manage, and thoroughly document direct treatment plans for a wide variety of surgical and specialty conditions.
• Provide compassionate counseling and health education to patients and family caregivers regarding treatment options, care management, and community support resources.
