About The Position

Provides care to infants, children and young adults through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. This may include, but is not limited to, health histories, physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment and management of common pediatric illness, chronic or acute conditions, behavioral problems or trauma ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing age-appropriate medications and therapeutic devices, and providing counseling and education to children, families and communities. Care may include primary care pediatrics and/or subspecialty care of the child with an acute or chronic illness or learning and behavioral disorders. Ensures that care delivered is family centered, customer focused, effective and cost efficient.

Requirements

MN Physician's Assistant license required.
Physician's Assistant Certification required or in pursuit of recertification defined by the certifying body National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Master's Degree required.
Experience working with acute, primary and specialty care patients.
Advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills for children and families.
Critical analysis and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and interpret laboratory and radiographic data.
Ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Ability to work collaboratively through consultation with other healthcare team providers.
Documentation of the provision of care to at least 100 patients during the past 24 months.
OR Documentation of the provision of inpatient care (including consultative care) for at least 20 patients during the past 24 months.
Maintain current BLS.
