About The Position

As a P&D Driver, you will be responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering freight locally, serving as the direct representative of Southeastern Freight Lines to customers. This role involves operating a tractor-trailer in diverse conditions, performing vehicle operations such as coupling, uncoupling, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment. Key duties include conducting thorough vehicle inspections, managing the loading and unloading of cargo, and ensuring all transport documents are accurate and compliant, particularly when handling hazardous materials. The position demands skilled maneuvering in challenging environments like heavy traffic and confined spaces. You are expected to report any incidents or delays promptly and strictly adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, always maintaining a focus on excellent customer service and professionalism. Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months driving experience
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers
  • No automatic restrictions on CDL
  • At least 21 years old
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Handle receipts
  • Read maps and road signs
  • Maintain driving logs
  • Detailed knowledge of and comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including those governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and the transportation of hazardous materials
  • Meet DOT physical qualifications
  • Pass alcohol and drug tests
