P&D Driver
About The Position
As a P&D Driver, you pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally, serving as the face of Southeastern Freight Lines and regularly interacting with customers. As a tractor-trailer operator, you drive in various conditions and perform vehicle operations such as coupling and uncoupling, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment. You conduct vehicle inspections, manage loading and unloading cargo, and ensure transport documents are accurate and compliant, especially when handling hazardous materials. The role requires skilled maneuvering in heavy traffic and tight spaces, reporting incidents or delays, following safety regulations and company policies, and providing professional customer service.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of driving experience; 1 year is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers endorsements, with no automatic restrictions.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English; perform simple mathematical calculations; handle receipts; read maps and road signs; and maintain driving logs.
- Detailed knowledge of and compliance with DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines, including those governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and transportation of hazardous materials.
- Meet DOT physical qualifications.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests.
