About The Position

Working as a Life or P&C Actuary Intern for Alfa Insurance offers a remarkable opportunity that extends beyond the stereotype of a typical internship. Each week, the interns participate in engaging and enjoyable workshops during our "Midweek Mixers." You are not confined to a single profession or department; instead, they were given the opportunity to explore all departments and gain a comprehensive understanding of how an insurance company operates cohesively. Given the prevailing stereotypes associated with internships at companies and firms, Alfa is determined to challenge expectations and provide a truly valuable experience. As part of this effort, the interns are treated as integral members of the team, receiving meaningful tasks and collaborating closely with mentors and other employees across various departments. Our interns not only acquired knowledge about how an insurance company operates but also develop lasting relationships, both professionally and personally.

Requirements

Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate in a 4-year university
Actuarial Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Business/Econ, Engineering major
Proficiency in R, Python, Excel, SQL
Good communication skills
Team player

Actuarial exams helpful but not required

Responsibilities

Explore all departments and gain a comprehensive understanding of how an insurance company operates cohesively.
Participate in engaging and enjoyable workshops during "Midweek Mixers."
Collaborate with mentors and other employees across various departments.
Take on meaningful projects and collaborate closely with experienced mentors.
Participate in a special session of our award-winning Leadership Academy, which teaches them to build self-awareness, embrace change, implement innovative processes, and strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Receive career guidance, including resume improvement and mock interviews with constructive feedback from mentors.
