About The Position

Boeing Aerospace Operations is seeking Experienced P-8 Maintenance Technicians to support the P-8A Site Activation Support Team at NAS Whidbey Island, WA. This position is expected to be 100% onsite, requiring the selected candidate to work at the listed location. The role involves assembly, disassembly, and modification of systems by removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components. It also includes configuring aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment, troubleshooting complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and overseeing validation/verification testing. Documentation of procedures and processes for contractual and regulatory compliance, inspection of components, and verification of repairs for flight worthiness are key responsibilities. Additionally, the technician will perform tasks related to the safe handling of aerospace vehicles, such as jacking, towing, and system operations, and will work under minimal direction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with General Aircraft Mechanic techniques and processes
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.
  • Requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years or more experience supporting a 737, AAS, INC3, and 4790 maintenance organization.
  • Experience working with U. S. Navy Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS).
  • Experience supporting a maintenance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Oversees validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
  • Works under minimal direction.
