The Maintenance Technician position is a general Maintenance position and an individual contributor position responsible for performing spinner clean up, general maintenance, writing work orders, troubleshooting machinery and having knowledge of facility level mastery of hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems. The Maintenance Technician must have general welding experience and have plant level mastery of electrical systems, knowledge of medium voltage (277-600v), valves, solenoids, and have detailed knowledge of plant systems, functions and machinery. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate fabrication of fixtures using welding, cutting and brazing. Additional duties include identifying and adding new and efficient preventive maintenance tasks and working safely with the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Incumbent must adhere to Valmont safety training policies. The Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities with a learned level of proficiency. This person is also responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including pneumatic and mechanical systems, clutches, brakes, power transmission components, combustion engines, and electrical and hydraulic systems. The incumbent performs basic electrical work and fabricates fixtures with limited to no instruction. This person is responsible for recording labor and materials used on each repair and provides some guidance, instruction and training to the Maintenance Technician.
