About The Position

Southern Freight Lines, a sister company within the Southern family, is expanding its Owner Operator network and is seeking professional, safety-focused drivers who want consistent freight, fair compensation, and a long-term partnership. We operate primarily in a general freight setting hauling structural steel, precast concrete panels, building materials, and crane parts and components. Most work is up to 3-axle step deck. Oversize experience is strongly preferred. Typical freight includes concrete panels 12–13 feet wide and structural beams up to 80 feet long. This is professional freight requiring drivers who understand securement, weight distribution, route awareness, and oversize compliance. The operating lanes are primarily regional within TX, OK, LA, and AR, with high-volume customer concentration in DFW, San Antonio, and East Texas. The schedule is 14 days on / 3 days off, with regional runs and consistent freight flow. We offer step deck freight (up to 3 axle work), and trailers are not required as many customers preload on their own trailers. Company trailers are available in rotation. We provide dedicated dispatch and operations support, back-office billing and compliance assistance, and an established freight network with repeat customers, with no unnecessary micromanagement.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL
Minimum 3 years verifiable CDL experience
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
Comfortable hauling oversized loads
Strong safety record
Ability to operate in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
Professional communication and customer-focused mindset

Oversize experience is strongly preferred.
