About The Position

Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP) is seeking an experienced veterinarian interested in a practice ownership opportunity in the Westborough area. This role involves becoming both a Medical Director and an owner of an established companion animal hospital. Rather than starting from scratch, the opportunity is to partner on the acquisition of an existing practice and help shape its future. VPP supports doctor-led hospitals, allowing them to remain locally branded and reflective of the leader's vision. VPP provides operational, financial, HR, recruiting, and marketing support, enabling the Medical Director to focus on clinical excellence and team development. VPP supports over 190 hospitals nationwide and more than 200 doctor partners.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
• Active Massachusetts veterinary license or ability to obtain
• 3+ years clinical experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Establish and uphold medical standards and urgent care protocols
• Lead effective case flow and clinical decision-making within an urgent care setting
• Ensure high-quality patient care and clear client communication
• Oversee medical record accuracy and charge capture
• Identify and implement clinical service enhancements
• Support hiring and onboarding of veterinarians and support staff
• Mentor associate veterinarians in urgent care workflows and triage best practices
• Contribute to operational strategy and scheduling efficiency
• Foster a collaborative, team-first culture
• Drive revenue growth while maintaining medical excellence
• Participate in annual planning and performance review
• Support marketing and community engagement initiatives
