Requirements

Experienced Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician
Ability to calculate basic medical math.
Ability to compassionately, calmly, and gently approach and handle patients.
Understanding of the classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
Ability to administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
Ability to perform phlebotomy.
Ability to place a peripheral intravenous catheter in the cephalic vein.
Ability to alert Veterinarian if the patient's status changes and/or physical exam or monitoring parameters are outside of normal ranges.
Ability to perform physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
Ability to intubate patients under the direction of a Level II technician or higher.
Ability to support Veterinarian and client through the euthanasia process.
Ability to read and follow orders written on the treatment sheet accurately and promptly.
