About The Position

Quartet Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Cary, North Carolina, is hiring an experienced overnight emergency veterinary technician to help grow its new Emergency Service. This role offers the opportunity to join the hospital at the beginning of its expansion toward a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. The Emergency Technician must be able to work at a fast pace and think quickly. The position includes providing emergency veterinary care and communicating with clients. Requirements

Previous veterinary emergency medicine experience is highly preferred.
Ability to work at a fast pace and think quickly.
Confidence with IV catheter placement, triage and history taking, anesthesia monitoring, CPR, multitasking, venipuncture, and client communications.
Commitment to learning and developing skills.
Accountability and a patient-first approach.

Nice To Haves

Credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT).
Fear Free Certification.
RECOVER Certification.
Experience with EzyVet and Smartflow.

Responsibilities

Perform triage and take patient histories.
Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture.
Monitor anesthesia.
Perform CPR.
Multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Communicate with clients.
Act in the best interest of patients and contribute positively to the hospital team.
