About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Conshohocken, PA is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Receptionist. This role is crucial to the hospital's success, serving as the first point of contact for clients. The successful candidate will provide care and attention to clients, functioning calmly and compassionately in emotional and difficult situations. - Ability to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for clients
Responsibilities
- Greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
- Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
- Be a compassionate listener.
- Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
- Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
- Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
- Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
- Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
- Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
