About The Position

The Overnight Transportation Coordinator supports the trucking division by managing customer needs, driver assignments, and freight movement during the overnight shift. This role ensures quality customer service, maximizes equipment utilization, and maintains driver productivity. The coordinator serves as a backup to Driver Managers and plays a critical role in problem-solving, tracking, and operational continuity during non-business hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of customer service experience.
1+ year of transportation industry experience.
Ability to sit for up to 90% of the workday using a computer, phone, keyboard, and mouse
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the remaining time
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
Experience with TMW, Omnitracs, and Qualcomm systems.
3+ years of experience as a fleet manager or dispatcher.
Extensive knowledge of DOT compliance regulations, hours of service, controlled substance policies, and vehicle compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Provide drivers with necessary customer contact information and directions.
Plan and assign loads, ensuring full driver and equipment utilization while meeting customer expectations.
Maintain awareness of each assigned driver’s preferences, home time needs, and working conditions.
Monitor driver hours of service and regulatory compliance before dispatching.
Manage mileage expectations for drivers based on account objectives or weekly mileage goals.
Track drivers on high-security loads and ensure compliance with company policies.
Respond to driver, customer, and supplier inquiries during and after business hours.
