About The Position

The Overnight Stocker is an essential member of Hy-Vee’s overnight crew, keeping store shelves full, organized, and ready for customers. The role involves unloading trucks, rotating and stocking products, tagging shelves, and maintaining an organized backroom. The Stocker also provides helpful customer service and works with teammates to support an efficient overnight operation. No prior experience is required; training and support are provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Clear, friendly, and helpful communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace during a busy overnight shift.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 100 pounds or more, with or without mechanical assistance.
Ability to stand and walk continuously on hard surfaces for extended periods.
Ability to unload, lift, stock, and rotate incoming truck freight and merchandise.
Ability to work in cooler or freezer environments for extended periods.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and help them find what they need.
Help customers locate products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and relay feedback or requests to the team.
Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, place overstock on risers, and rotate products to ensure freshness.
Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and incorrect deliveries, and report issues.
Organize stock for efficiency and clean and restock damaged items.
Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
Work with teammates to support a smooth, efficient overnight operation.
Follow Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
