About The Position

Hy-Vee is seeking an Overnight Stocker to help keep store shelves full, organized, and ready for customers each morning. The role is part of the overnight crew and includes unloading trucks, rotating products, tagging shelves, organizing the backroom, and supporting a positive shopping experience. The position is physically demanding and hands-on, performed primarily during overnight hours. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
• Ability to stay organized and keep up with a busy overnight shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 100 pounds or more, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Ability to work in cooler or freezer environments for extended periods.
• Ability to unload, lift, stock, and rotate incoming truck freight and merchandise.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

• Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, help them find products, assist with reaching items or carrying heavy purchases, and pass feedback or requests to the team.
• Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and incorrect deliveries, and report issues.
• Organize stock for efficiency and clean and restock damaged items.
• Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
• Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
• Work with teammates to support a smooth, efficient overnight operation.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
