About The Position

The Overnight Stocker is an essential member of Hy-Vee’s overnight crew, keeping store shelves full, organized, and ready for customers each morning. The role includes unloading trucks, rotating products, tagging shelves, and maintaining an orderly backroom. The Stocker also provides customer service and works with teammates to support an efficient overnight operation. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Clear, friendly, and helpful communication with customers and teammates.
• Ability to stay organized and keep pace during a busy overnight shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 100 pounds or more, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to continuously stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Ability to work in cooler or freezer environments for extended periods.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is a condition of employment.

• Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and help them find products.
• Assist customers with reaching items and carrying heavy purchases, and pass feedback or requests to the team.
• Unload trucks and open containers.
• Stock shelves, place overstock on risers, and rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and incorrect deliveries, and report issues.
• Organize stock for efficiency and clean and restock damaged items.
• Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
• Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
• Work with teammates to support a smooth and efficient overnight operation.
• Follow Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
• Unload, lift, stock, and rotate incoming truck freight and merchandise.
