Overnight Public Space Attendant
About The Position
The Cambria Hotel in Detroit is expanding and looking for a dynamic and energetic Public Space Attendant to join our team! The Cambria Hotel in Detroit features upscale amenities that appeal to modern travelers, including immersive, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors - Contemporary and sophisticated guest rooms, complete with modern fixtures, abundant lighting, and plush bedding – Multiple food and beverage options - Flexible meeting and event space- State-of-the-art fitness center - Locally inspired designs. Public Space Attendants are responsible for keeping the Cambria Detroit complex in clean and orderly condition. Perform cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
- Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate about job-related needs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Responsibilities
- Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Clean kitchen and food prep areas.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Request supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow-melting chemicals.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
