About The Position

Reporting to the Program Manager, this Overnight Program Support role is primarily focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment. The successful candidate will complete scheduled cleaning tasks, monitor the building overnight, and respond to resident needs or concerns as they arise. While this role involves interaction with residents, it is not a case management position. As a member of Indwell’s Wentworth Program Team, you will promote housing stability and care for our residents. This is a Residential Care Facility (RCF) that is staffed 24/7 and regulated by the City of Hamilton. What matters to you? Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma is required
  • TB test as a requirement for a Residential Care Facility
  • Recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) with the information therein acceptable by Indwell to meet the operational requirements of the program- at one’s own cost
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification from an approved provider that meets Ontario provincial standards or willingness to register for the training within 30 days of employment-reimbursement by Indwell
  • Ability to lift, bend, and complete physical tasks
  • A warm, sensitive, and caring approach
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and have a genuine interest in supporting people living with mental illness
  • Ability to work independently, have flexibility, be organized, and take initiative

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience working in a tenant building is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team supporting individuals living at the Wentworth Program. These supports may include: medication administration, pest management, and other supports as necessary
  • Thorough cleaning of shared spaces, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and other program areas according to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors
  • Work independently overnight, using good judgment and following established procedures
  • Respond to resident complaints/concerns with care, compassion and efficiency.
  • Maintaining security in the building
  • Keeping a healthy and safe environment
  • Complete required documentation in a thorough and timely manner with a focus on maintaining and protecting resident health records
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
  • Upholding organizational policy and procedures
  • Using appropriate procedures when responding to emergency situations
  • Complete required safety checks and inspections as assigned.
  • Attending and participating in all required training to maintain and develop new skills
  • Other duties as required
