About The Position

As the Overnight Manager, you will be responsible for auditing daily guest ledgers and handling the duties of front office operations, night audit, and hotel safety/security. You will serve as the Manager on Duty during overnight hours, providing leadership and support to front office and resort staff, ensuring adherence to Chatham Bars Inn Standards, including Forbes, Leading Quality Assurance, and AAA. This role involves managing and monitoring the activities of all front office employees, ensuring they meet standards of excellence and follow hotel policies. You will maintain a professional and high-quality service environment, act as the Manager-on-Duty to assist guests, resolve issues, and handle complaints. The Overnight Manager will oversee the night shift, coordinate front office activities with other departments, and inform staff of nightly activities and guest arrivals. You will also run accounting reports, accurately complete night audit reports, make room reservations, and provide guest information and services. Ensuring compliance with all standards and policies, presenting a professional appearance, and working closely with resort departments are key. You must be aware of and enforce fire, life, and safety procedures, and perform any other duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year management experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Previous night auditor experience preferred
  • Experience in Opera systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the front office and ensuring they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set forth in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training, and correcting where needed.
  • Maintain professional and high-quality service-oriented environment at all times
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty for the hotel assisting guests, solving problems, acting on complaints and disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise
  • Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate front office activities with other departments
  • Informal overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests
  • Run varies reports for the accounting department
  • Complete and input with accuracy all night audit reports
  • Make room reservations and provide information and services to guests
  • Ensure that the Chatham Bars Inn standards, to include, Forbes, Leading Quality Assurance, and AAA, policies, procedures are properly understood and followed
  • Present a professional appearance
  • Work closely with the resort’s departments
  • Be aware of and be able to enforce all fire, life, and safety procedures
  • Perform any reasonable duties as required by the Front of House Manager and Director of Rooms
