About The Position

The Overnight Maintenance & Security Technician at Dune House Hotel & Spa is a dual-purpose role covering the property overnight, combining basic maintenance response with safety and security rounds. This associate keeps the hotel running smoothly and safely while guests rest, addressing routine maintenance needs and circulating the property to protect guests, associates, and the building itself. They are an ambassador of happiness and hospitality.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
A minimum of 6 months successful experience in equal or similar position.
Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.
Ability to maintain logs and records.
Requires a professional presentation and an ability to work in a team atmosphere and to make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

Respond to and resolve basic guest maintenance requests overnight (lighting, plumbing, HVAC, minor repairs).
Make rounds of the property to confirm equipment and building systems are working properly.
Log maintenance requests, equipment/meter readings, and parts used; hand off open items to the next shift.
Escalate maintenance issues beyond entry-level scope to the Chief Engineer or on-call team.
Patrol the property, including parking areas, on a regular schedule throughout the shift.
Respond to guest concerns, unusual circumstances, or safety violations with urgency and discretion.
Document a daily security log covering incidents, accidents, and safety concerns.
Respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help; notify appropriate authorities and perform first aid/CPR as needed.
Enforce the property's No Solicitation Policy.
All other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
