About The Position

The Bellevue Club is searching for an Overnight Custodial Manager to join the team. This position is responsible for but is not limited to working closely with Company leadership in working alongside and supervising custodians who perform day-to-day and periodic cleaning activities in assigned work areas throughout the Club and Hotel. This position will also be the liaison for our contracted janitorial, carpet, and hardwood maintenance services (and other contracted services as deemed necessary). This position requires administrative, customer service, and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing janitorial, maintenance, or custodial employees.
  • Knowledge of cleaning facilities, hotels, recreation facilities, or applicable skills.
  • Knowledge of chemicals used in custodial tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to be flexible and move quickly from one task to another as well as the ability to prioritize and assign tasks as needed based on immediate needs.
  • Flexibility to attend meetings with both overnight and day shift employees as needed.
  • Availability to work weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English/Farsi) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Custodial employees including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Primarily overseeing overnight staff and will assist with day staff under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director.
  • Communicate with other Department Managers and Directors regarding daily, and scheduled cleaning of their areas.
  • Provides constant guidance, leadership, and training to all employees through meetings, on the spot training, and guidelines.
  • Effectively schedules staff to perform all custodial functions seven days a week.
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff, provides coaching, corrective feedback, and positive recognition to all staff members in a professional and timely manner.
  • Responsible for effectively training employees in all aspects of their essential and additional job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that all custodial equipment is operational and performs minor repairs. Major repair will be serviced out.
  • Establish cleanliness standards and cleaning procedures for all custodial staff to follow.
  • Ensures the supply of custodial chemicals and supplies are fully stocked.
  • Responsible for directing inspection of trash removal, dusting, spot cleaning, window washing, mopping, vacuuming, washing/scrubbing projects, tennis courts, basketball courts, pickle ball courts, indoor track, all workout studios, Golf studio, restroom and locker room cleaning.
  • Floor maintenance (including auto-scrubbing, buffing, stripping, waxing, and burnishing), carpet maintenance (including spot removal, shampooing and extracting), pressure washing, recycling, and restocking of supplies; and other duties as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing the daily cleanliness of all aspects of the Club.
  • Directly supervises all Custodial employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Club’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provides initial and ongoing training for staff relating to standard operating procedures, club navigation, cleaning duties, emergency preparedness, and customer service.
