Overnight Courier (Medical Specimen)
About The Position
We are looking for a friendly and customer-service-oriented Courier with a clean driving record to enhance our team. In this role, you will coordinate timely and efficient transportation of medical specimens and supplies. You will provide excellent customer service to clients and employees, maintain cleanliness and perform maintenance on company vehicles and transport devices, and ensure compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. You will also document operations, complete necessary reports, and assist with training and communication among couriers and relevant departments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous driving/courier experience preferred
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Navigation, punctuality, and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Ability to drive in inclement weather
- Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of 30-60 lbs.
- Ability to enter and exit assigned vehicle.
- Able to sit in vehicle/drive for up to 4 hours nonstop.
- Ability to load & unload assigned vehicle, with frequent bending involved.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
- Regularly handle potentially infectious samples.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle in all types of conditions, including built-up areas, freeway, and rural traffic, hours of darkness, and inclement weather.
- May be exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens.
- Occasional-to-regular kneeling, bending, stooping and twisting to perform vehicle inspections and minor operator maintenance, including changing tires.
