About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility, supporting an outstanding member experience and the safety of members and team members. The role follows Planet Fitness cleaning standards and an established cleaning schedule, maintains cleaning equipment and supplies, and reports inventory needs or broken and missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager. The role may also include greeting members and guests, answering phones, assisting with inquiries or concerns, handling retail transactions, supporting sales goals, and conducting regular walks of the club to address safety, policy, and cleanliness issues. The position requires the ability to work the overnight shift.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand and move continually throughout the club during the shift.
Ability to communicate continually in person or by phone during the shift.
Ability to bend, twist, and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.
Ability to perform frequent cleaning and sanitizing and to encounter toxic chemicals during the shift.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed.
Communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities and equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns at check-in.
Answer phones courteously and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and work toward sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas, promptly address safety or policy issues, and respond to cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
