About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility, helping provide an outstanding member experience and maintain a safe environment for members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas and equipment, replenishing supplies, operating and maintaining cleaning and laundry equipment, and reporting maintenance concerns. It may also involve member service, phone assistance, retail transactions, resolving member concerns, and walking the club to identify safety and cleanliness issues.

The position requires the ability to work overnight. Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred. Planet Fitness provides CPR/AED training for team members willing to become certified. The role involves frequent movement and communication, lifting up to 75 pounds, exposure to toxic chemicals, and bending and twisting.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work the overnight shift.
• Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the club continually during the shift.
• Ability to communicate continually in person or by phone during the shift.
• Ability to bend and twist and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to perform frequent cleaning and sanitizing and encounter toxic chemicals during the shift.
• Positive, upbeat attitude; reliability and punctuality; attention to detail; effective communication; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and respectful, helpful interactions.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
• Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
• Dispose of trash properly and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
• Replenish supplies and paper products as needed, and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
• Clean and dust items high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
• Report broken or missing amenities and equipment to the Club Manager.
• Operate the washing machine and dryer.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
• Greet members and guests as they enter and exit, and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
• Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
• Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
• Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
• Frequently walk all club areas, promptly addressing safety or policy issues and cleanliness concerns.
• Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
