About The Position

The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of a Planet Fitness facility, helping provide an outstanding member experience and maintain a safe environment for members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa; vacuuming and operating a floor scrubber; disposing of trash; replenishing supplies; and maintaining cleaning equipment. The Cleaner also reports inventory needs and broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager, and operates a washing machine and dryer. Daily responsibilities may also include greeting members and guests, answering phones, processing retail transactions, supporting sales goals, addressing member concerns and escalating them to a Manager when needed, and conducting frequent walks of the club to correct safety, policy, and cleanliness issues. The role requires working overnight and involves continual movement and communication, lifting up to 75 pounds, exposure to toxic chemicals, and frequent cleaning and sanitizing.

Requirements

Ability to work the overnight shift.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand and move continually throughout the club during the shift.
Ability to communicate continually in person or by phone during the shift.
Ability to bend and twist and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floor surfaces and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed.
Communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns at check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas and quickly address safety, policy, and cleanliness issues.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
