About The Position

This position is for an Overnight Baker/Fryer at Schnucks in Wildwood. The shifts range from 3 am to 11 am. The role involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers, assisting with product selections, and processing incoming products. Key responsibilities include preparing various baked goods such as breads, rolls, doughnuts, and pastries, including icings and frostings, according to established recipes. This involves tasks like cutting and molding dough, proofing and baking, inspecting product quality, and packaging finished products. The role also includes stocking displays, preparing outdated products, baking cookies, recording inventory, and completing production sheets. Maintaining a clean work area and equipment according to safety and sanitation procedures is essential. Other duties may be assigned by store management. Training will be provided at the store level.

Requirements

18 years or older to apply
Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Working on feet for entire shift (4-8 hours)
Internal Candidates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
Assist customers with product selections, including suggestive selling
Process incoming products from bakery plant and direct store delivery vendors
Prepare breads, rolls, doughnuts, and other pastries, including icings and frostings, according to established recipes
Cut and weigh dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, mold dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in pans
Proof dough and bake in oven using peel
Inspect product for quality during and after baking and make adjustments to process as required
Review production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities
Package fresh-baked products
Slice and wrap fresh baked bread
Stock product displays in cases and on shelves
Rotate product and straighten displays
Prepare out-dated product for the thrift stores
Bake cookies
Record inventory of supplies and order stock from main storeroom
Complete production sheets and other records as required
Constantly clean work area and equipment following company safety and sanitation procedures
Other duties will be assigned at the discretion of the store management
