About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Overhaul & Repair Process Mechanic B for the 2nd shift. This role involves planning and performing work on various manual and automatic part treatment, heat treat, flame spray, and coating equipment. The position requires working on Overhaul & Repair parts using established methods and provided tooling. Responsibilities include performing braze fabrication preparation, assembly, and masking, as well as operating striping, cleaning, and braze fabrication equipment. The role also involves setting up and operating flame spray, plating, painting, and coating equipment, as well as heat treat furnaces. Routine maintenance of equipment and assisting with new part process tryouts are also part of the duties. The mechanic may be assigned additional tasks to support department objectives and develop skills, and may be required to obtain and maintain specific licenses and certifications.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of plasma coatings experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform work to set up and operate various manual and automatic part treatment, heat treat, flame spray, and coating equipment.
  • Perform work on Overhaul & Repair parts using established methods and provided tooling.
  • Perform braze fabrication preparation, assembly, and masking as required.
  • Perform a variety of striping, cleaning, and braze fabrication operations utilizing surface treatment equipment.
  • Set up and operate automatic and manual flame spray, plating, painting, and coating equipment.
  • Set up and operate, load and unload, and monitor heat treat furnaces for braze heat treat, stress relief, and sizing operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of spray units, guns, nozzles, seals, fittings, and filters.
  • Assist others responsible for new part process tryout, repair, and other specialized assignments.
  • Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of the job description.
  • May be required to train for, obtain, and maintain licenses, operator permits, and certifications.
