About The Position

Friends of Switchpoint is a nonprofit serving individuals, families, and veterans in Utah experiencing poverty and homelessness. Its mission is to address underlying causes of poverty, provide comprehensive plans, and support people on their journeys to self-sufficiency. The Overflow Resident Support position helps manage day-to-day facility operations and support residents. Duties include providing customer service, documenting shift activities, responding to residents’ needs, coordinating with management and case management, maintaining safety and security, and assisting with cleaning and other facility tasks. The position is part-time, pays $19 per hour, and has day, swing, and grave shifts available.

Responsibilities

Understand and implement Switchpoint’s mission and values and follow its policies and procedures.
Provide customer service to facility guests.
Keep a daily log of occurrences during each shift.
Record residents’ special requirements and needs, such as special diets or ADA accommodations, and coordinate with management to facilitate them.
Update the maintenance log with maintenance requests.
Arrange transportation for residents in shuttle vans.
Listen to residents’ needs and respond appropriately.
Report resident concerns to case management and management.
Perform simple cleaning, including cleaning public bathrooms, sweeping, and mopping.
Assist with convenience store transactions.
Monitor cameras and log activity.
Conduct perimeter checks and building walkthroughs to help ensure resident safety and security, and document concerns.
Address security issues and complaints by contacting non-emergency dispatch or 911 for emergency services as appropriate.
