About The Position

American Furniture Warehouse is seeking highly motivated, energetic, hardworking candidates to join our team as an Over the Road CDL Truck Driver. This is a family-owned company with family values, offering competitive pay and a full benefits package. Most loads are drop and hook with no-touch freight, and all trips are pre-planned. Drivers can expect to be home weekly with 34-48 hours of home time. AFW hauls its own freight, ensuring drivers do not depend on other customers' loads to get home and avoid waiting at truck stops. All training is provided by AFW.

Requirements

At least 1yr. OTR tractor-trailer driving experience in the past 3 years
No major FMCSA violations.
Acceptable MVR and PSP within the last three years.
Must be able to maintain a CDL.

Nice To Haves

Mountain driver a plus.

Responsibilities

Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and the ability to promote awareness.
Able to perform vehicle pre-trips up to FMCSA standards.
Ability to operate Electronic Qualcomm Log System.
Must be willing to chain up during severe weather.
Must be aware that operations occur on asphalt, concrete and gravel surfaces in a hostile environment often contaminated with material subject to embedding in tires.
Must function and interact on a routine basis with the AFW management team.
Communicate using a cellular telephone with dispatch and AFW personnel via McLeod application.
Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.
