About The Position

The Outstation Major Maintenance Manager is responsible for the oversight of outstation heavy maintenance and personnel, ensuring administrative requirements, training, work performance, and compliance with company policies and procedures are met. This role involves developing and maintaining positive personnel and labor relations, ensuring employee safety awareness, and coordinating the effective and economical planning and execution of department functions. The manager will coordinate with various management personnel and departments to ensure the completion of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of company aircraft, and is responsible for the discipline and efficient utilization of supervised employees. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the proper care and availability of tools and equipment, managing the department budget by analyzing expenses and operational requirements, and overseeing aircraft deliveries. The manager may delegate duties to a qualified assistant but retains overall responsibility.

Requirements

Valid A&P Certificate
Experience working Heavy Transport Aircraft, preferably 747-400 and 777 aircraft
Ability to use and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals, and parts manuals
Good computer skills
Good verbal communication skills
Maintenance Control experience is required
At least 3 years of experience maintaining the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air
Appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate
Organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Identify changes to enhance departmental process quality and submit Maintenance Program Revision Requests.
Oversee outstation heavy maintenance and personnel, including administrative requirements, training, work performance, and compliance with company policies.
Develop and maintain sound personnel and labor relations and employee safety awareness.
Ensure department functions are planned and carried out effectively and economically.
Coordinate with management personnel for the completion of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of company aircraft.
Manage the discipline and efficient utilization of employees under supervision.
Ensure tools and assigned equipment are cared for and readily available.
Coordinate and communicate with other Kalitta Air Departments.
Analyze expenses and operational requirements to manage the budget.
Ensure personnel use current working copies of manuals.
Be responsible for any future aircraft deliveries.
Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Line Maintenance.
