About The Position

The Outstation Major Maintenance Manager is responsible for the oversight of outstation heavy maintenance and personnel, ensuring administrative requirements, training, work performance, and compliance with company policies and procedures are met. This role involves developing and maintaining positive employee relations, ensuring effective and economical departmental functions, and coordinating with various departments for aircraft maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs. The manager is also responsible for budget management, employee discipline, efficient utilization of staff, and the proper care of tools and equipment. Additionally, the position requires ensuring personnel use current manuals, managing aircraft deliveries, and performing other assigned duties. The manager may delegate tasks but retains overall responsibility.

Requirements

Valid A&P Certificate
Experience working Heavy Transport Aircraft, preferably 747-400 and 777 aircraft
Ability to use and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals, and parts manuals
Good computer skills
Good verbal communication skills
Maintenance Control experience is required
At least 3 years of experience maintaining the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air
Must be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65
FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate
Individual must be organized
Able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff

Responsibilities

Identify changes to enhance departmental process quality and submit Maintenance Program Revision Requests.
Oversee outstation heavy maintenance and personnel, including administrative requirements, training, work performance, and compliance with company policies.
Develop and maintain sound personnel and labor relations and employee safety awareness.
Ensure departmental functions are planned and carried out effectively and economically.
Coordinate with required management personnel for the completion of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of company aircraft.
Be responsible for the discipline and efficient utilization of employees under supervision.
Ensure tools and assigned equipment are cared for per Company policy and are readily available.
Coordinate and communicate with other Kalitta Air Departments.
Analyze expenses and operational requirements to manage the budget.
Coordinate with required departments to ensure effective completion of maintenance, preventative maintenance, alteration, and repair of company aircraft.
Ensure personnel are using current working copies of manuals respective to the job.
Be responsible for any future aircraft deliveries.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Line Maintenance.
