About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking an Outside Service Attendant for its Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is responsible for enhancing the local community with upscale, yet affordable, recreation, and providing a learning environment for GCU business students and a home for GCU Golf student-athletes. The goal is to position the golf course as a community and university asset.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the game of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations.
  • Ability to demonstrate passion for providing exceptional customer service through every guest interaction to create repeat guest visits.
  • Demonstrates ability to go above and beyond to meet guest expectations.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Must be willing to dress according to golf dress code.
  • Able to work well independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to learn the structure and function of all clubhouse and golf course.
  • Basic mathematical ability, ability to count and reconcile cash.
  • Ability to work on Computers and with Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to learn and follow all safety, emergency, and accident prevention procedures.
  • Able to use fire extinguishers and any other emergency equipment needed to ensure personal and guest safety.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service/hospitality environment.
  • Trained in First Aid, CPR & AED or able to complete training needed on own time within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have work authorization documents for United States.
  • Must be fluent in English, ability to read and write.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate contact with guests with a warm welcome and willingness to assist.
  • Serve guests with respect and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures for outside service areas.
  • Follow procedures in setting up and breaking down the driving range.
  • Ensure range balls are cleaned after each pick and always ready for the first tee.
  • Ensure Range Den Caddies are consistently filled with balls.
  • Ensure water buckets and club cleaners are changed as needed.
  • Ensure spike cleaners are cleaned daily and the surrounding area is kept clean.
  • Ensure practice balls are picked from driving range tee boxes and range each night.
  • Ensure all service work areas are cleaned and readied for the next day’s operations (Bag drops, cart barn, driving range).
  • Clean golf carts, and stage them neatly and orderly with scorecard, pencil, sand and seed mix, bag straps clipped, and trash free.
  • Ensure all golf carts are washed, dried, stocked, and stored each night.
  • Ensure golf car rotation strategy is followed daily.
  • Assist managers with daily and preventive maintenance of golf carts as needed.
