About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca operates on principles of "Service, Integrity, Reliability." The company utilizes a decentralized business model where each location, known as a Profit Center (PC), is managed like a small business. Hughes Supply, a trade name of Hajoca, is seeking an Outside Salesperson for its Union Hills, Phoenix, AZ location. This role is commission-only. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, outgoing, knowledgeable, persuasive, and driven to close sales and build relationships.

Requirements

1+ years outside sales experience, contractor sales preferred.
Able to drive for company business.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
Extensive knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center.
Effectively use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Able to build influential relationships and trust with customers and key vendor partners.
Demonstrate the deep product knowledge required to answer customer questions and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Develop a consultative mindset to understand customer business and personal goals.
Able to overcome customer objections by recommending profitable solutions.
Able to build positive working relationships and inspire teamwork with co-workers.
Possess excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to persuade.
Act in a self-directed manner with the ability to plan and organize effective sales calls.
Able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
Able to learn and operate the computer related systems used to process orders.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Contractor sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Attract and retain customers by conducting face-to-face meetings, visiting job sites, and meeting with decision makers.
Work with the Profit Center Manager to establish revenue and margin targets.
Analyze sales reports and tools to develop strategies for assessing customer purchase potential, growing market share, and meeting sales targets.
Process sales orders, bids, and job information packages in accordance with Company policy.
Actively participate in sales meetings, complete customer call reports, and maintain customer profile data.
Find innovative ways to grow sales with existing customers and identify opportunities for value-added services.
Investigate and resolve customer problems, address pricing deductions and material returns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Work with customers, the Profit Center Manager, and Credit Manager to facilitate payment of accounts receivable and communicate potential credit risks.
Support Inside Sales and all Profit Center activities as part of the Profit Center Team.
Join industry associations to stay informed about market conditions, new technologies, and trends.
Successfully complete assigned safety and compliance training programs.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
