About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative for Trench Shoring. We are a company that values safety and people, offering a supportive work environment and opportunities for growth. This role involves securing orders, identifying new customers, planning sales calls, and presenting the advantages of Sunstate Equipment. You will build strong customer relationships, solve customer problems, and provide assistance with product application. The position also includes providing trench safety and confined space specific solutions, including engineered systems, and offering on-site system installation assistance when needed. You will also engage in project bids and instruct competent person training classes for excavation safety and confined space entry.

Requirements

  • 3 years Outside Sales experience in the construction industry required
  • Intermediate competency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM programs
  • Be an efficient and effective communicator and hold yourself to the Sunstate standard of excellence
  • Basic computer skills including average typing skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years experience in the Trench Shoring industry is highly preferred.
  • High quality control.
  • Respect your work and make it known.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P as it pertains to excavation safety is preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 as it pertains to confined space entry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Secure orders, locates new customers, plans sales calls, and makes presentations demonstrating the advantages of dealing with Sunstate Equipment.
  • Build strong business relationships through respect for the customer and a sincere desire to service his needs.
  • Establish and maintain personal relations with customers
  • Solve customer’s problems and provide assistance to product application
  • Provide trench safety and confined space specific solutions, including engineered systems for site specific applications
  • Provide on-site system install assistance when needed
  • Engage in the early stages of project bids
  • Instruct competent person training classes for excavation safety and confined space entry as needed
  • Keep customers up to date on new products in Sunstate fleet
