About The Position

Municipal Emergency Services (MES) is looking for a Rescue Tool Specialist to assist Fire Departments and other First Responder departments in an assigned territory with extrication tool needs. The role involves working closely with existing customers and new prospects throughout the entire sales cycle, providing end-user training and product setup when necessary. This is a full-time position with the potential to earn significant monthly commissions. MES is the nation's largest provider of Rescue Tools, PPE, fire apparatus, uniforms, and services to first responders, with over 25 locations and a dedicated team of over 300 sales representatives and certified service technicians. MES supports its customers with innovative digital commerce solutions and a nationwide warehousing system. The territory for this position is the entire state of New Jersey, with the ideal candidate living close to Trenton, NJ. This position requires 85% travel.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years in similar position
  • Prior experience selling to fire equipment
  • Technical Rescue Experience 5 years +
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • REAL-ID is required to work in Federal sites
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 60 lbs.) are required.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Fire Departments and other First Responder departments in an assigned territory with extrication tool needs.
  • Work closely with existing customers and new prospects through the entire sales cycle.
  • Provide end-user training and product setup when necessary.
  • Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills.
  • Perform business math (gross margin calculations, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
